Previously, in the fourth quarter of 2008, the import volume of log ships in the port area fell by 45% compared with the average value of the first three quarters of the year, and the import volume of pulp ships fell by 30% year-on-year. The reporter learned that the reasons for the recovery of log imports at Shanghai Port are: China's economic situation has improved, and domestic related shipping businesses have rebounded; China's real estate demand has increased compared with the second half of last year, driving the demand for wood used in house decoration.
